Carolyn Evans, Board Member
Biography:
Carolyn Evans, and her husband Leo, have lived in Sitka for the past 46 years, where they raised all four of their children that were all born at Sitka Community Hospital. She is interested in the health and wellness benefits available to the people of Sitka now and for future years. Her volunteer experience includes 9 years at the Sitka School Board, 2 years in which she was Vice President; 3 years on the Sitka Community Hospital Board; 4 years as a Board member for the Sitka-Edgecumbe Youth Football Program and 12 years as Lamaze Child Birth Educator in Sitka. Mrs. Evans received her education from Sacramento City College as a Certified Dental Assistant with an AA degree in business administration. Mrs. Evans served as an Employment Security Specialist for 21 years and retired from the State of Alaska, Department of Labor, in 2005. She also taught employment related classes at Sitka and Mt. Edgecumbe High School and in the 1970's she worked for 2 ½ years for the U.S. Forest Service.
